Marvel Cosmic Invasion
It’s amazing. It’s a Tribute beat-em-up with unrestricted access to Marvel IP and a tag-team system that lifts liberally from Capcom’s fighting games. Highly Recommended.
…
No seriously, that’s all I feel I need to say, but if I must: It’s better than Shredder’s Revenge. The turtles largely all played the same, but Cosmic Invasion has a huge roster where everybody plays differently, and you get to take out two of them at a time. And instead of primarily being melee-focused like basically all modern beat-em-ups, the cast of characters here almost all have a mix of melee and ranged abilities, and they’re beefy bombastic abilities. It’s not chains of dive kicks, it’s She-Hulk elbow-dropping from off the screen, it’s Iron Man laying down a giant electric orb and killing 20 bugs at once, it’s Wolverine dashing across the screen in a berserker barrage straight out of MvC.
And it’s got all the stuff you expect from a Tribute / Dotemu joint: instant load times, wonderful pixel art, 4 player couch or online-crossplay drop-in coop. You should not need more. Play this game. It rules. Highly Recommended.
